What it is about
PRF – briefly explained
Before the procedure, we draw a small amount of your blood and centrifuge it in our PRF centrifuge. This creates a fibrin matrix full of platelets, growth factors and white blood cells – with no additives and no foreign material.
We place this matrix into the wound: for implant placement, bone augmentation, wisdom tooth removal, focal infection treatment and gum grafting. The result: faster wound healing, less swelling and pain, lower infection risk and more stable bone – ideal for our biological approach to surgery.
In detail
Where we use PRF
Implantology & bone augmentation
PRF membranes and sticky bone improve the integration of ceramic implants and partly replace foreign material.
- Less foreign material
- Better osseointegration
- Biological
Extractions & treatments
After wisdom tooth removal and focal infection treatment, PRF fills the socket and helps prevent new focal disturbances.
- Faster healing
- Less discomfort
- FDOK prevention

What patients ask us
For which procedures is PRF used?
For extractions, implant placement and bone augmentation, after wisdom tooth removal, for focal infection and FDOK treatment, and for gum grafting – wherever bone or soft tissue needs to heal.
Can you notice a difference in healing?
Yes, usually clearly: less swelling and pain in the first days, fewer wound-healing complications and a more stable healing result in the bone.
Is the blood draw unpleasant?
No more than a routine blood test at your GP – a few vials from the arm vein, drawn right before the procedure at the practice.
Can PRF replace foreign material in bone augmentation?
Partly, yes. Combined as "sticky bone" or used as a membrane, PRF reduces the need for foreign material – it cannot always be avoided entirely depending on the starting situation, which we discuss beforehand.
Who is PRF suitable for – are there exclusions?
Suitable for almost all patients, since only your own blood is used. For certain blood clotting disorders or medications, we assess suitability individually.
What is the difference between PRF and PRP?
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) requires additives such as anticoagulants. PRF needs no additives at all and forms a stable fibrin matrix that slowly releases growth factors over several days – making it longer-lasting and fully biological.
